SIMON,
Born in 1997, Tokyo. Currently based in Fukuoka.
Simon is creating a next-generation manga called Alien-chan. (or just Alien)
In addition, he was inspired by Fujiko F. Fujio, who is known as a manga artist for the father of
the Doraemon, and Simon Yotsuya, a leading figure in spherical jointed dolls. At the same time,
he was also stimulated by his childhood admiration for Sanrio and Disney characters, as well as
Japanese pop art from the 1990s, which was/ remixed with contemporary art modes.
The combination of analog and digital media coincides with Simon's passion for dissolving
socio-cultural boundaries concerning ethnic and transgender identities. However, these topics
are still taboo at the table in his home country.
